With every show, with every season, with every year Emotions Dance goes through expected and unexpected changes. After a very successful Artsfest 2010 performance of Muddle and topped off with an exceptional experience at Orlando’s Nude Nite, we were ready for some much needed breathing, and creative time. As with every “break” between shows, we scope Orlando for new and refreshing talent. Emotions Dance added three new company members, Amanda Miller, Lorien McDavid and Stephanie Hayes. All have exceptional artistic and technical talent and I am so pleased to have them on board as company members. We also had shocking news and had to say goodbye to one of Emotions first company members. Alicia Klenk, who had been part of Emotions Dance since it’s conception in July of 2007, had to retire from Emotions Dance company due to a debilitating hip injury. Alicia performed over 10 different concerts, events, and performances with Emotions Dance throughout her 3 years and we will be sad to see her go. She is, along with other retired company member, Alexis Bohrnstedt- Rapp, now a member of Emotions Dance Board of Directors and will still be an active part in the company endeavors.
Changes occur throughout everyone’s life, situation, environment. Change can be difficult, but also help people grow into something better. Emotions Dance is sad to say goodbye to some great members, but is also very excited to embrace new company members as well. Look for our new dancers in our next performance Untold Stories 2, which will premiere in May of 2010
Wikimedia Commons describes Jean Agélou (1878-1921) briefly as a photographer who “produced nude and risque photographs from 1900 until about 1917. Jean Agélou published most of his nudes under the initials JA. His most famous model was a woman known as “Fernande”.” It is notable that the first illustration in the article on Erotica in Wikipedia is one of the Jean Agélou’s Fernandes. “Miss Fernande” is considered as a kind of erotic icon celebrated in Europe in the first decades of the 20th century. Here is one quote from the website devoted to her:

Today’s photo could be considered to be nothing but an act of flashing. Yet, in my opinion it is more about affirmation. I have reclaimed my “self” from the collective where I was defined by my various personae. I have reclaimed the depth of “self” that allows me to cease being a victim or a perpetrator. This is who I am on the outside. I am not about name brand clothing or name brand religion or system of economics. I am a man.
I have “doctored” the photo using software (obviously) in order to make the photo less about exhibitionism and more about symbolism. The focus on blue allows the sense of consciousness to emerge out of unconsciousness. The original idea for the photo was based on The Vitruvian Man and on Jourard’s book, The Transparent Self. As I continue to say, my photos are all about symbolism, about the opportunity to discover self, and self in relation to other.
“Je pense, donc je suis” better known as “I think, therefore I am” “Cogito ergo sum” are words that are relatively famous, words spoken by René Decartes in 1637 about the time my ancestors were making their way to New France (Canada). This is the only truth any of us really knows, the fact of our own personal beingness. It is only through an emerging personal consciousness of “self” that the world and “otherness” begins to take shape. As one thinks the relationship to otherness expands and becomes: “I think, therefore I am, therefore you are, therefore God exists.” Without consciousness, there is nothing else.
“Incarnation thus understood becomes an alternate description of what Jung means by “the relativity of God” (Jung, 1921, pp. 242–244; 1954, p. 381). Put succinctly, Jung is contending that only in human consciousness can God become self-conscious
and so relativized, at least, in relation to a God conceived as an absolute and transcendent self-sufficient divinity “wholly other” than the human (Jung, 1953, p. 11, n. 6). The “relativity of God,” thus understood, also provides the deepest meaning of human suffering. Relativization implies that divinity must divest itself of its transcendent remove and suffer in historical humanity the resolution of its unresolved eternally conflicted life. It is no wonder that Jung (1954) would write that “God wants to become man but not quite” (p. 456). Even for deity things were less painful in eternal but unconscious bliss. This is actually quite an understatement for any conscious human (is there any other kind?). It seems the more we become aware, the more we suffer. This is why there is a real belief in the expression “ignorance is bliss.” I have often read the bible as well as a number of other books on religious thought, as well as listening and reading about other stories of creation. In each of these it is consciousness that marks the beginning of relationship, especially the relationship with self. Without consciousness, one “is” without awareness of self. In discovery of self, one then is able to discover others, an act of separation. Before consciousness, there is no separation between self and other, all just is. And this includes whatever it is that we call the Divine. The Divine, God, self and other – all enmeshed without consciousness. Too much here to think about, to wonder about for a small post. Perhaps more deserves to be said later.
“In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters. Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light. And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.” (Bible, Genesis 1)
The beginning – a darkness, a formless void – unconsciousness. And then there was light – a separation from the darkness – consciousness. The beginning begins with the dawn of consciousness. Think about it for a while. If not, this was not the beginning at all. How do we account for the creation of darkness, what came before consciousness? From whence this entity called God?

Here is an ad we did for Wrigley’s Gum. I went out to Times Square the other day to photograph it in its environment. It is above the Sephora Store. Hopefully, we will have a behind the scenes video of the making of it in the future. We shot a bunch of footage, but I have not followed up on its creation. It is a very cool process that Vault does.

A Malaysian wife claims she was forced to have sex with more than 50 foreigners after her husband started having erectile problems four years ago.
The 61-year-old woman, identified only as Chia, ran away from her home in Sarawak March 6 and sought refuge with MCA Public Services because she could no longer withstand the “crazy acts” of her 66-year-old husband, the Star Online reports.
The woman said her husband recruited men from nearby rubber estates and supervised her on sexual positions and moves while he videotaped them having sex. He would assault her if she refused to do the acts.
Chia said the abuse started when the widower she married 12 years ago started having erection problems. She only kept silent about the abuses until now because she didn’t want her ill parents to worry about her.
In return for having sex with his wife, Chia’s husband would buy the workers beer or pay their cell phone bills.
It was unclear if charges had been filed against her husband. Public Services is helping Chia seek legal advice.

A 50-year-old man flipped out and killed his girlfriend and two other men after walking in on them having a threesome at her Brooklyn apartment, police said.
Hours later, the jilted lover admitted to cops he was so furious that he carved up the two mens’ bodies and dumped them somewhere in New Jersey.
“He made statements implicating himself in the deaths,” said NYPD spokesman Paul Browne, regarding the triple homicide at 1518 Eastern Parkway in Brownsville.
It is unclear whether three victims were shot or beaten to death.
The suspect spotted his 51-year-old girlfriend having sex with the two men shortly after midnight and left a voicemail with a friend saying he killed the three of them, cops said.
The message, was passed on to cops, led them to the woman’s first floor pad about 2 p.m. The suspect was found hovering over her dead body in a back bedroom.
He admitted to the murders and was taken to the 73rd Precinct in Brownsville for questioning.
Regine Nole, a 46-year-old home attendant who lives across the street from the murder scene, said the suspect “didn’t look afraid or upset” when cops escorted him out of the building.
“He just put his head down and went into the police car,” Nole said.
Lulu Facey, 30, who lives in an apartment a floor above the murdered woman, said she heard a lot of screaming late last night and “someone yelling ‘Help! Help!’” But Facey did nothing and “went to sleep” because she thought the commotion was over dogs barking at another apartment.
Nole said she heard from neighbors that the woman was “beaten to death.”
“She was dating more than one guy and just moved into this apartment three weeks ago,” she said.
A woman who walked through Wal-Mart naked had been released from a local psychiatric ward hours before the incident, according to the Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana, Sheriff’s Office.
Employees called a deputy just before 6 p.m. to report the 24-year-old, who was walking completely unclothed in the Martin Luther King Boulevard store’s food section, said Maj. Malcolm Wolfe, a Sheriff’s Office spokesman. When the deputy asked her why she was naked, she replied, “God wanted me to show the world what I really look like,” according to the deputy’s report.
The deputy handcuffed the woman and covered her with a blanket. She was returned to the psychiatric ward at Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center, where she had been released two hours before, Wolfe said.
The report does not indicate how she arrived at the store or when she undressed. No charges were filed.
A rollercoaster fanatic has let it all hang out for charity – by tackling some of Britain’s biggest rides naked.
Richard Jones, 27, rode Nemesis at Alton Towers in the nude after travelling across America and Europe to tackle 298 different roller coasters and clock up a total of 10,000 rides.
Mr Jones, a Morrisons supermarket worker who lives with his parents in Churchdown, near Cheltenham, Glos., admitted the naked rides ”were very cold”.
”Ever since I was four I have been hooked on roller coasters. It’s an escape from time because it takes you somewhere you don’t normally go,” he said.
”Hurtling along at 80 mph also gets the adrenaline going. Doing it naked is a lot more difficult because it does get very cold.
”But it was still a good experience and I will definitely be doing it again in the future. I have broken world records and raised money for charity through my roller coaster riding.”
Mr Jones fell in love with roller coasters aged just four when his parents took him on the Zipper Dipper in Blackpool.
Since then he has ridden a total of 298 different roller coasters with his favourite the 400ft (122m) Top Thrill Dragster in Ohio, America.
In May 2004 he broke the Guinness world record for the largest naked roller coaster ride when he tackled Nemesis Inferno at Thorpe Park with 112 other fans.
He has now staged his second naked ride on Alton Towers’ Nemesis with 32 friends to raise money for charity.
One of his favourite roller coasters is The Big One in Blackpool, which he has ridden over 1,000 times.
Mr Jones also rides Megaphobia at Oakwood in Wales for eight hours non-stop every year to raise money for charity.

Well, let’s just say one thing. Hawaii is a way of life and if you want to live there, you need to learn a little bit about the people and the language. It isn’t just about volcanoes, luaus, hula skirts and catching the perfect wave. Well, maybe it is a little bit about that, but you can’t enjoy it unless you adopt that aloha spirit first. Since I gave up shopping for Lent, I’ve been making mental notes of things I really want to buy as soon as Easter comes around… Not on the list? More little black dresses, black work skirts, or black shoes. Enough is enough and wasting shopping funds on things I ALREADY HAVE just seems silly when there are a ton of other pretty things I could spend money on!
What is making the list? I’m still trying to narrow that down… but a couple things I definitely feel my closet is missing (NEED for spring!) are a turquoise bag and nude(ish) shoes.

What’s So Stimulating?
On Wednesday, February 17 President Obama defended his $787 billion Stimulus Plan meant to help the U.S. avoid another Great Depression. In the year since the bill’s enactment, the unemployment rate hasn’t budged despite tax cuts, credits, and investments in infrastructure, energy efficiency and broadband. It seems that even a forced influx of cash into the economy can’t overcome the volatile U.S. and Global Marketplaces.

Below is the birth chart of Tiger Woods. After a brief visual inspection of the chart, I found Tiger to be someone driven to be the first at everything. This drive equates to his desire to fit in. This is indicated by Chiron in Aries, 8th house. In some cases a desire to always be first is disastrous with the individual isolating themselves among family and friends. But in Tiger’s case Chiron’s desires were tempered by Pluto conjunct the Arabic Part of Fortune in Libra, 1st house. Here Tiger was given the opportunity to mold himself into a figure of non-self assertion. Believe me when I say I was surprised to find such a strong connection between the Desire for Reforms Eclipse chart and Tiger’s Birth Chart. Upon visual inspection it appears that this was the year Tiger’s secrets were on a collision course with fate. In the 7th house we have the Saturn-Vertex aspect. Also in this view, Saturn is ruling the 11th house where Tiger’s Mercury is located. If you recall, a major deal breaker for Tiger and Elin were those text and voicemail messages that went back and forth between him and his anxious maidens. In fact, Tiger’s Mercury is still under seige. Within minutes of his public apology, three of the five maidens managed to make national news with one being offered a job as a television announcer. But that’s not all, this same Saturn-Vertex aspect is square Tiger’s Midheaven, Ic, and Moon. This sort of pattern appears to be keeping his personal and business matters in a continuos state of flux having to do with his career, his home and his emotional state. Sadly, the South Node conjunct Sedna in Taurus, 2nd house shows money leaking out of Tiger’s wallet this year. Debunked Conspiracy Theories Featuring 2009 Lie of the Year
Lastly, I found a nifty article debunking a number of conspiracy theories. They are a fitting conclusion to this blog noting the apparent outcomes of forced choices between different positions. The article was released by Newsweek one day after the quincunx. I’ve listed some of the most notable below. PolitiFact named this one “Lie of the Year” in 2009. Part of Barack Obama’s devious plan to reform health insurance will be the creation of panels of experts who will decide whether or not patients are “worth” treating, making them arbiters of life and death. Proponents: Sarah Palin, Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), a lot of angry town-hall-meeting attendees. It’s fully debunked: Palin was apparently referring to a provision of draft legislation that would have funded consultation about end-of-life care.
No. 2 Barack Obama was not born in the United States. It’s not clear where he must have been born instead: some say Indonesia; some say Kenya (initial suggestions that Hawaiian natives weren’t citizens when he was born in Honolulu in 1961 were quickly dismissed). The point, so-called birthers say, is that he wasn’t born in the good old US of A, hence isn’t a natural-born citizen and therefore cannot legally be president. Proponents: Chief birther and Beverly Hills dentist and attorney Orly Taitz, WorldNetDaily editorJoseph Farah, Rep. Nathan Deal (R-Ga.), former presidential and Senate candidate Alan Keyes, assorted tea partiers. It’s fully debunked: Forged Kenyan birth certificates have been exposed! Obama’s birth certificate has been certified by the state of Hawaii, and images have been shown on national television. And that’s leaving aside plenty of circumstantial proof, like birth announcements in both major Hawaiian papers from August 1961.
No. 3 – Barack Obama is a secret Muslim. Drawing many of the same backers as the birther movement, this theory claims that Obama was indoctrinated into Islam while living in Indonesia during his childhood. They worry Obama is trying to undermine America’s Judeo-Christian heritage, institute Islamic religious law, betray Israel to the Arabs, and perhaps even allow Al Qaeda to win the war on terror. Proponents: Anonymous chain e-mail, Libyan dictator Muammar Kaddafi, Swift Boater and propaganda wizard Jerome Corsi. It’s fully debunked: Obama belonged to a Christian church in Chicago (for which he ironically also caught flack) and has a record of unambiguous support for Israel and hawkish policies on eradicating Al Qaeda’s strongholds in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
No. 4 – Obama wants to conscript Americans into a civilian defense corps. The group would be a brownshirtlike organization that would enforce order in the United States. Proponents: Glenn Beck, Watergate burglar and media personality G. Gordon Liddy, Ann Coulter. It’s fully debunked: Liberal press watchdog Media Matters says the theory stems from a speech Obama made in which he argued for the importance of the Foreign Service, AmeriCorps, and the Peace Corps. That’s a far cry from an American Gestapo—a claim for which there’s no support.
No. 5 – Time magazine wants to restrict the Internet to licensed users. Time, in concert with pro-censorship groups, is backing a plan that would require a license—i.e., government sanction—for people to get on the Internet. Proponents: Radio host and conspiracy junkie Alex Jones’s two Web sites. It’s fully debunked: Time published a story reporting on a Microsoft executive who’d like to see licensing to combat anonymity. Broadcasting such a controversial proposal—regardless of its merits—is quite the opposite of censorship.
No. 6 – 9/11 was an inside job. The truthers, holdovers from the Bush days, just won’t go away. They argue that the physics of the World Trade Center collapse doesn’t add up, and that the attacks were an excuse for the U.S. to launch wars abroad. Proponents: Alex Jones, retired religion professor David Ray Griffin, Reagan administration policy analyst Barbara Honegger, British journalist Robert Fisk. It’s fully debunked: Not even the staunchest mainstream George W. Bush bashers believe this one. Enough said.

Today’s photo could be considered to be nothing but an act of flashing. Yet, in my opinion it is more about affirmation. I have reclaimed my “self” from the collective where I was defined by my various personae. I have reclaimed the depth of “self” that allows me to cease being a victim or a perpetrator. This is who I am on the outside. I am not about name brand clothing or name brand religion or system of economics. I am a man.

Finally she locates a deserted bar that isn’t serving lunch, where she plops down and pulls out a plastic box containing enough tabbouleh to stuff a softball. “I’m on a raw-food diet,” she declares, raising her brows to make her eyes even bigger. “It’s intense.
